It seems like the storms are really lined up! From the Caribbean all the way across Africa.
The weather people are saying it's that time of year, but it seems a bit unusual to me.

I heartily agree. That is unusual. And of course the weather people are saying it's that time of year, much like they refuse to attribute these additional storms a cause and effect of global warming. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya.
Not unusual at all - end of August through to probably about mid September really is the height of hurricane season. To jog your memory a bit, remember in 05 it was only about 3 wks after Katrina that the Gulf Coast was hit by Rita.
I agree, too. It's all working against us. My husband is trying to get home from Afghanistan for R & R, and these storms are trying to prevent him.
They are doing the conga line to come to the Caribbean for some rum and relaxation.
