Fishermans Dock Marina Dive
I went diving at one of my favorite spots, Fishermans Dock Marina (that's what a dive buddy of mine named it, it doesn't really seem to have an official name). Got an OK shot of a French Angel fish. I found a scuba tank. If it was full of air, it would still be good to use, but it was full of water, and very heavy. I decided I would add it to the bathtub, an underwater landmark that I use at this dive site. I carried it (because I didn't want to restow my lift bag after deploying it). Plus you know I love walking and running fin-less underwater! I took off my fins and jogged across the sand flats, stopping to check my compass. I got to the mini wall and turned right, and jogged on till I found the bathtub. I tossed the tank in it. I found some rope there so I tied the tank to the tub.
Then I went and did my deco, and took some close-up pictures of christmas tree worms. And a tiny fish in a tiny hole. It was a very good dive.

That is SOOOOO COOL!
If I didn't have a phobia about the sea, I swear I'd try this diving lark. It's like another world, and I bet it's peaceful too!
I really like your pictures! My favorite is the compass, but I don't know why, I just think it looks cool. I bet it's wonderful and fun to try scuba diving, I have often considered taking the scuba course offered at the school I teach at. I did have a hard time snorkeling in Mexico and Florida though and think scuba has to be harder! It's just so hard to look, breath, and swim at the same time-do I sound like an idiot??
Diving IS a different world, weightless and three dimensional, and your above-water problems do not follow you underwater.
Everyone teases me about my little compass on my finger, but it is the best! People also make fun of my mirror, then they want to borrow it underwater!
I think scuba diving is easier than snorkeling. Snorkeling you fill your lungs then have to force your way down, scuba you're already there! No flying for 24 hours after diving though, Ms Futurepilot!
Why? Is your body that messed up?
Because your body has to offgas the excess nitrogen it absorbed. Your body isn't messed up at all!
I love these pictures! The underwater world is so fascinating to me. I've never really thought much about it until I "met" you and your blog. Now I'm very interested in it and want to experience the things that I see you writing about. The beauty of it is so enticing and I hope that one day I'll get to explore the wonders of the deep blue. I'm glad you are adventurous enough to explore and allow me to live vicariously through you and your pictures. :)
Those are some freaking cool pictures and that's not just the beers talking. Wow! The sheer beauty of it takes my breath away. Now THAT might be the beers.
WOW... What great pictures. I've always wanted to try scuba-diving (have snorkeled a few times), and I'm not sure why I haven't managed to do it yet. It is SO cool that you live in a place where you can dive regularly in such an awesome spot! Thanks for sharing. :)
These pictures are fantastic! I think you have a great life set up for yourself there in the Caymans. It's great that you can go to this other world and get lost there for a while.
