Blogging makes youu feel better

Yesterday I woke up feeling crabby, whined about it here. Then cruised a few blogs and had my coffee. You know what? I felt much better after that.
This morning I had a dream that I was somewhere like Peru, and there was this ancient (electric) elevator that was broken. It would go up, but not stay there, so you had to step off when you had a chance. It was full of people, and it would go up, a few people would step off, it'd go down and you had to push the button again when it reached the bottom. Then back up, and a few more people would step off, so on and so forth. And it was made of rock and was all outside on these cliffs. Think Fred Flintstone.
This morning I'm going diving, my first dive since we moved into the new house.

Angry wake up

This morning I woke up angry. My teeth and jaw hurts from grinding my teeth in my sleep. I woke up hating the house, hating the sofa, hating the fact that the OI Girl wants to buy an entertainment center I'm not 1o0% sure I like. I hate the yard, it's just dirt. My storeroom downstairs is humid and warm and dank, I have mold starting to grow on my wetsuits. I need to do something about that ASAP. I need ventilation down there. I'm tired of spending money. Work pisses me off.
I just woke up in a foul, black, mood.

What a joke. I've been through the airport 5 times with this stainless steel bottle, and not once has it been scrutinized. Yesterday, they took a small 4 OZ botle of suntan lotion in my computer backback. When he found it, I could see the agents demeanor change, like, AHA! Victory!! He tells me with glee, "You can't take this on the plane!"
Meanwhile there's pounds of computer accessories, batteries, battery chargers and all kinds of metal in my backpack that he ignored. Not to mention this bottle, that could have had literally anything in it.
On hindsight, I believe they saw that suntan lotion on the X Ray machine and were looking for it specifically, and the goal of finding SUCH a forbidden item caused them to ignore everything else. It's a joke. Taking my suntan lotion will surely prevent terrorism. Ridiculous.

Of course,
after typing this I've probably jinxed myself, and I'll probably get super searched every time from now on!

Topic Shortage

Every night, I think of all these good things to post about, when I get in front of the computer, I can't remember a one.
Same thing at the video and music store, I have all these movies and music I want to see/watch, and when I get there, I forget everything on my list.

Ribeye Steak

I've decided that my favorite steak is the Ribeye. Last night I made a couple on the grill, and verified that indeed they are my favorite!

The Westin Casuarina Grand Cayman SUCKS.

Yesterday, The OI Girls work took us all out to brunch. We had reservations at the Westin, but they sucked, Crappy table outside, under a low hot tent, dirty tablecloth, cheap plastic chairs and flies everywhere. The manager was no help. So we left and went to the Ritz. They were impeccable.
Once I took some friends who were visiting on a cruise ship to the Westin for lunch. After we got done eating by the pool, we walked out on the beach and a security guard kicked us off because my friends wife put her purse on a lounge chair, the lounge chairs are for registered guests only. If we hadn't already paid the bill, I'da given it to that security guard to pay.

The Westin Grand Cayman SUCKS.
Tell yer friends!!

I can't believe George Carlin Died.
That hit me hard this morning. I always thought he'd be a great President of the US. Better than any president in the last 20 years.

Cayman Fights

The fights were GREAT! They were at the Cruise Ship Terminal, where the cruise shippers get off the ships. I had purchased cheap seats, just to go by and check it out, thinking we'd leave early if we wanted. But when we got there, we went to get some ice cream, and there were tables by the ice cream place on the balcony. We sat down and stayed there the whole time and we had the best seats in the house. And waiters kept bring by hors d'oeuvures and we had food and drinks and I had a couple of cigars and it was a really great night! It was the OI Girls first night at the fights!

This is a video from my phone, because we forgot our cameras. The audio isn't great because it was LOUD!

Cayman Boxing

There's a big boxing event this weekend. I bought a couple of cheapseats for the OI Girl and myself. It should be pretty good. It'll be live on showtime tonight! Look for me! In the back!

The Puppy

There's a puppy on our street, female, about 45 pounds, huge paws. She's so happy and energetic and she keeps jumping up on me, the OI Girl and my dog. My dog hates it. The OI Girl came home crying once because of it, I whack the dog on the head and say "NO JUMPING". She's learning not to jump on me, but as soon as I'm nice again, she jumps again. She is usually very muddy too.

Attack Chicken

This morning I was walking my Dawg, on a short leash. He found a chicken who was sitting on eggs under a brown bag by the road. The Momma chicken was upset, to say the least, at being disturbed and she came out and charged my dog. I was mad at him for pulling the lead and was pulling him backward. He was dying to get the chicken. It was pretty funny, my Dawg withdrawing on his two back feet as I pulled him backward while the chicken advanced, all puffed up and as aggressive as a chicken can be. We woke up every dog within a quarter mile. After I took my dog inside, I went back and covered the nest with the bag

Holiday Monday

Today is a holiday, I have the day off and the OI Girl does too.
So far it's been a great weekend. We've been working on the house a lot and the huge pile of boxes in almost gone. Saturday I painted the sundeck with concrete sealer and I had them dye the sealer blue. It looks like a swimming pool! It needs another coat and then it'll be ready for the lounge chairs. Also I hung up a big metal sun on the front porch. I like it, I think it looks cool.

Yesterday I woke up really early and sat on the back porch with the newspaper and drank come coffee. It was nice and shady. I have to point out that here, the newspapers don't deliver, and most put out a big Friday edition and that's it for the weekend, But recently, The Cayman Observer, a free newspaper, has started delivering on Sundays. It is fantastic! It's been two weekends in a row I've sat on the porch with the paper and coffee. Ahh the small pleasures are the best.

Today I plan on boring a hole in the 8 inch concrete block under the kitchen sink to put a garden hose attachment on the back porch. Wish me luck!

Bruce Day

The day I last saw my little brother Bruce alive was June 13th 1991, when he came and visited me in Virginia. He stayed with me at my apartment. We went to Virginia Beach & had hamburgers on the boardwalk the day he went back home to Bridgeport, Connecticut. He and his girlfriend, Karen, were murdered approximately June 30th 1991, in Tucson, Arizona. He was seven years younger than me.

Today is the day! (hopefully)

Today the contractor is supposed to come and get his temporary work shed, and finish up a few little things on the house. Today, if he does it, I will give him his final check. Then I will feel that the house is completely mine and I'll have all the keys.

Red Sky At Night . . .

Red Sky at night, Sailors delight.
Red Sky in morning, Sailor take warning.

This morning the sunrise was beautiful, the best I've ever seen here red streaked with blue.

Now it's all cloudy, I think it's going to rain.

Yesterday we got raingutters on the house and they started spreading the dirt in the yard they scraped up when they cleared the lot.

Second Monday

This is my second Monday after vacation. We've been in the house for a week and two days now. Tho contractor still has his shed and a bunch of stuff in the yard and I have a list of things that still need doing. Little fix-up stuff.
I want to get rid of the contractor and start feeling permanent in my own house. I want ALL the keys.

Last week at work, I moved the station into a new production studio I built. This week I start remodeling the old production as the new, main on-air studio. After that, the old on-air studio I'll be vacating will become an extra production studio!

Rain Ride

This morning I left for work and it was nice and sunny. By the time I got there it was pouring rain and streets were flooded. Throughout the day, the clouds and rain lessened. When I rode home, I left work and it was nice and sunny. By the time I got home, it was pouring rain again.
Now it's sunny.
Welcome to the Caribbean Rainy Season!

Back At Work

I'm back at work today after 11 vacation days, 2 comp time days, 1 holiday day and 4 weekend days. It seems like forever, and I still need some time off today because the contractor isn't finished with the house yet.

Heres a picture I took from my roof of some waterspouts out at sea. They were cool to watch!
