Saturday Phone Post

Yesterday, after I posted, I couldn't leave comments. Blogger problem.
Got LT back yesterday and he seems ok. He still has his nuts. I thought they chopped them off.
I was planning on sleeping late this morning but Sheba had other plans. 7:30 is pretty late anyway.
I'm reading The Hunger Games series. I'm half way through the third book. So far it has been very good. My wife says the third book gets kinda drawn out, but I plan on burning through.
Still getting used to the keyboard on the new phone. It seems more accurate if you type as fast as you can instead of slow and careful.
Thats it for today. Have a good weekend!

Test Post

This is a test post from my phone. Not too bad.
Yesterday I went diving and today I am too.
We have a new cat, LT (Long Tail), he's going to the vet today to get "fixed". I feel like such a betrayer. But he's been hanging out, picking fights, and spraying smelly cat spray in our cats area. He is very friendly and loves to be held and petted. I hope the other cats see how much he likes it and want some too. They still barely let us touch them.
Tonight he'll be home and it will all be behind us. I easily put him in the kennel yesterday and he's going to the vet this morning...
It doesn' t feel like Friday. I don't know what day it feels like, but not Friday.
Let the weekend begin!
Oh yeah, the pic is uploaded from my phone, part of the test.

bald eagle, a fox and cats

A bald eagle, a fox and cats on a porch in Alaska appears to be a regular happening at a woman's home in the Aleutian Islands:

See how the fox, eagle and cat are all just fine hanging out and no one is trying to attack anyone and they are getting along just fine? Notice the eagle in the background on the lamp post down by the street. That is the partner to this eagle. They aren't always out to attack and kill each other. Our fox and eagles and cats basically get along just fine here. Sometimes if there is food they might fight over the food some.

I copied this post from Neatorama.

I especially like the fox!

TV Show "Bones" and Jonathan Adams

The Wife and I really like the TV show "Bones". We downloaded all the entire seasons and watched them all.

I think the show is going downhill, but don't get me wrong, I still like it. It's going down slow, not fast, but I predict it will be suddenly canceled.

The TV show is based on a book about a real anthropologist, so indirectly it would seem to be based on reality and the things that happen in the show should be earthly possible. But that's not what I'm getting at.

Now, it the most recent season, the two main characters, Bones and Booth are romantically involved. She's pregnant and the show is going more and more unbelievable. But that's not what I'm getting at.
What I'm getting at is at the beginning of the second season, one of the best characters, The Boss, Dr Goodman, played by Jonathan Adams, didn't come back. This was the beginning of the shows descent. The Lab got a new boss, Camille, (far right in the picture above). Shes a good actress, but her character is so whiny. She is always throwing in something like "don't forget I'm the boss" at the end of practically every sentence and it's frankly, quite annoying. She constantly reminds everyone she's the boss because she's not the boss.

Jonathan Adams, Dr Daniel Goodman, was THEE boss. No arguing, no questions asked, he handles it. Comparatively, Dr Camille is a weeny, irritating and petty from the start.

I don't know why Jonathan didn't come back for season two. I hope he didn't get screwed. I think his departure sprang the first leak that will eventually sink the Bones TV series boat. Dr Camille is just leaky, no way she could hold the position as boss in real life. Letting Booth and Bones become romantical is another leak in the boat. What's biggest leak in the boat is the drift away from being believable.

Anyway, the point of this post: I like the show, I liked Dr Goodman, Dr Camille is an annoying crybaby. Plus for other reasons, the show is going in a non sustainable direction. But I still like it. I think it will be gone after the next season or two.

I observe again and again the same phenomenon in life, people make a good thing, then they mess with it and mess with till it's all messed up.

Dog Beach Diving Movie Weekend

It was a very nice weekend. I finished the book "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and then watched the movie. The movie was kinda like the first fifth of the book, and the last fifth of the book, and the middle was missing, but wasn't bad. In the movie the characters didn't look like I imagined. If you see the movie first, you visualize the characters as they appeared in the movie when you read the book. If you read the book first, the movie doesn't do as good as your imagination.

Saturday I took the dogs to the beach, as you already knew, and as you can see from the pictures below.

Sunday we went diving, but again, you knew that.

Last night we went to the theater to see "Hunger Games" which was a pretty good movie. I went with my wife and a bunch oh her friends, who all had read the book, and were scrutinizing the heck out of the movie. I suppose I shall have to read the book too. I am currently reading Hunter S Thompson s "Rum Diaries", I saw the movie first.

Ditto and Sheba on the beach, posing for the camera

Sheba in the surf zone

Ditto, the natural beach bum. He knows all about what it's all about on the beach.

I hope you have a good week!

Mini Series Dreams

For the last three nights I've had three short seeming dreams in the morning before I wake up.

Three nights ago, I dreamed I was having a phone conversation with a friend of mine Ben, from Virginia, who I haven't heard from since I moved down here. It was just a phone conversation, but when I woke up, I felt like I really talked to him the night before. In the dream he said he and his wife split up.

Night before last I dreamed a friend of mine, (Orville) and I were in prison. I had a piece of concrete that was cylindrical, like a Red Bull can. Orville wanted to steal it. I didn't want him to. I'm not even sure he was in the dream, I just knew he was there and wanted to steal my piece of concrete.. Yesterday I called him and told him about the dream.

When I was in the Navy, my first ship got decommissioned. Part of the work was inventorying all our hand tools and stuff. After we invetoried everything several times, we took the tools, and put them on the pier. People from other ships could take tools, but none of us from our ship could. Last night I dreamed I was in line to get whatever I wanted from that row-pile of tools on the pier. I was near the end of the line, so all the good stuff was gone, but I got a soldering iron, a spare heating element for a different soldering iron, and I found several of my hats, with my name on them. Also I recognized some of my friends hats. But the hats were there because I threw them away, and I didn't take them.
How's that for weirdness?

Not Quite As Nice As I Thought.

Yesterday didn't quite turn out to be the nice day I thought I was going to have. I wanted to finish that course, I was whipping through the modules, passing the test at the end of each. I did the last module, and test, and thought I was done. I clicked the "next" button, and got the following message:

Dammit! I should have stopped, gone to the beach, had the day I had planned, studied a while, and taken the test later, but I didn't. I took it right then and there. There was a two hour limit. I figured if there was a two hour limit, surely I could do it in an hour. It was a tough test, I flunked it and I used the whole two hours. When I got done, the day was gone, and now I gotta take the test again. Later, next week.

I woke up this morning, looked at the clock, and it was 5:55. I got up, and a few minutes after that it started POURING! I got soaked bringing in the stuff that can't get wet and taking out the plants. We had a nice rain.
Long time ago, I had driven to Florida, and was taking a scuba class, I had the alarm set for 5:55. Ever since then, I have kinda liked 5:55. I think I'll set my alarm for 5:55 and start getting up at 5:55 every day. Another moment I like is just after noon, I have to flip my watch from the date to the seconds to see 12:34:56. If I'm awake after midnight, and I think of it. I might look for 12:34:56 then too! I love it!
I gotta go, there's these guys in white suits with big butterfly nets knocking at the front door, their shirts say "Funny Farm Insane Asylum" on the back. They want me to try on a jacket with long long sleeves......
Have a good Friday and a Great WEEKEND!!!

Thursday Picture Post

I am hopefully not working today, it the client calls, I will go, but I expect that won't happen. Today I need to pay my bills, (online) finish an online course I've been taking on Voice Telephone Networks and Studio Interface Systems I could do a little yardwork, and maybe go to the beach. But you know how that goes. My eyes are bigger than my plate. I'll be lucky to get the course done.
Yesterday I stopped at the beach on the way home from work. Took a few pics. Here they are. Yup.

Title-less Tuesday

When I first typed the title for todays post, it came out Titless, we can't have anyone having a Titless Tuesday.. Tits for everybody!
I mowed the yard yesterday..... If you can remember back far enough to the last time I mentioned mowing the yard... Well, I didn't mow it then. That was what? A month ago. Well, I finally got 'er done. Yup.
Blogwise, I got nothing today for ya folks. Just a aching brain and a bloodstream needing coffee. AND a couple pictures, one from this morning and one from yesterday. And a sore throat, I think I'm getting "THE COLD" that's "GOING AROUND".

Hard to hide when you're a white cat.

NHRA, Rick Silvers, Kenny Bernstein, 300 MPH, and Me!

Rick Silvers and Son.

20 Years ago this weekend, Kenny Bernstein broke Drag Racings 300 MPH barrier when he got 301.70 MPH at the NHRA Gatornationals in Florida. I was there!

Rick Silvers and I used to go to a lot of the NHRA Drag Races up and down the USA East Coast. I worked weekends at Suffolk Raceway, and he had a race car. He also worked with me in our day jobs. He is an Excellent friend to this day.

He still has the same racecar, always improving it. He says: "If you can spin your tires, you don't have enough traction. You have to fix your traction problem. If you can't spin you tires, you don't have enough power, You gotta soup it up so you can get enough power". Truer and more racerific words have never been spoken.

One of the things I miss most about the USA is going to the races with Rick, it was always a road trip and always a good time! Once we went to Pennsylvania and I pulled a camper trailer in my old Jeep Cherokee with the four cylinder engine! That Jeep was never the same! Once we drove down to Florida and he had to pull over every hundred yards so I could puke, One stop I rolled out of the car into an ant hill. I remember him laughing and people blowing their horns! I don't miss those hangovers one bit!

Video of the 300 MPH Race, and an interview with Kenny Bernstein

I remember this like yesterday!

Skydiver Falls From 13.6 Miles

Felix Baumgartner aims to break 52-year-old record. Baumgartner lifted off Thursday for a test jump from Roswell, N.M., aboard a 100-foot helium balloon. He rode inside a pressurized capsule to 71,581 feet — 13.6 miles — and then jumped. He's aiming for nearly 23 miles this summer.
Felix on the left, and Joe Kittinger on the right. Joe holds holds the skydive record now, 19 miles.

There's a video that shows them releasing the giant helium balloon HERE.

Spam problem

My wife and I, plus a lot of other people got emails from the email account associated with this blog.

I changed my password and hopefully that will eliminate the problem.

Sorry!

Souvenirs

When people go on vacation, they like to buy a souvenir. A t-shirt, keychain, something like that.
I usually don't buy typical souvenirs. I was in the Maldives, and I bought a pair of dive booties. I did buy a t-shirt too, but I remember those dive booties and every time I wore them I'd remember the Maldives.
I was in Ohio, with my Mom, and we were at the store my Grandfather used to go to with me. I saw a shaving brush. I had just gotten a new one, so I didn't get it, but I've been wishing I had ever since.
Last February, Costa Rica, I bought a toothbrush in the grocery store. Every morning and evening and whenever I brush my teeth, I think about the Costa Rica trip. I also bought a new pair of flip flops. In hindsight, I think the toothbrush is an excellent souvenir.
I think it's a good idea to (sometimes on purpose) leave something you know you'll need at home, so that you'll have to buy a new one, then you may find it is the favorite thing that reminds you of your trip!

Ran Dumb Ness

I'm working early this morning.

It has been good weather here, nice and cool in the shade and hot in the sun. Just how I like it!

I got to spend about a half hour on the beach yesterday.

The Wife and I are getting sick, we both have sore throats and there's a cold going around. I wonder if new colds come, go around, then leave, or does the same cold go around and around over and over?

Below are some pics of a bird that was in our bath yesterday morning.

not really blank

I have no idea what I am going to post about. I don't have any pics. I found the picture above searching for images - blank mind. My mind is not really blank, I just can't think of anything to post about. It is a pretty cool picture though, I think it's the guy from the back of the Pink Floyd album, "Wish You Were Here".

This should be an interesting week. I want to get this particular job behind me as soon as possible. Then I'll be whining about not having any work.

The Wife is getting ready to head out to work, then I'll start my shower and shaving process and after some emails and phone calls, I'll be heading out too.

I'm taking an online course about telephone audio interfaces for radio stations. I've haven't told the Wife yet, I've been meaning to.... My Society of Broadcast Engineers certification expires in July, and I have to get it renewed. Hopefully at a higher level.

I feel alright, I slept pretty good. I got up once for about half an hour, but I kind of enjoy that. What I hate is laying in bed in misery trying to force myself to sleep.

I hope you and I both have a good week!

Rainbow Shots.....

Sounds like an alcohol drink...
Yesterday I just got home from work when I got a mysterious phone call.
"Are you home?" a seductive, hypnotic, sexy, alluring voice asked.
"Yes", I answered, instantly hypnotically captivated.
"Go outside".
I headed out to the back porch,
"No no no, to the front". So I went out on the front porch.
"See the rainbow?" The voice asked.
"Yes" I answered.
"Take Pictures" The voice commanded.
So I did.

A double rainbow

A bird on the wire.

Two minutes later The Wife pulls into our driveway!
The brightest rainbow in my life!

Fridayeay!

I'm glad it's Friday. First weekend off in two weekends. Unfortunately the Wife is working tomorrow.

I had a major problem this morning. You're going to be horrified, I was extremely low on coffee in the coffee container, and was searching the house for the coffee in the silver can. After searching every cupboard in the whole house, I finally found the coffee diabolically and maliciously stashed in plain sight on the counter, next to the coffee maker. I opened it up starvingly and found it was bean coffee, not ground. I re started my search, looking for the coffee grinder. I could not find it. Entering withdrawals from too much blood in my caffeine system, I heroically exhausted the last of my strength and made a small pot of coffee. I am seriously under-coffeed this morning, don't know if I can make it through this one. If you don't hear from me in the next few days, send someone looking.

On a different note, here's some pictures of our animals. Paloma the horse isn't ours, but she asked me for water yesterday. I went outside and she walked towards me from across the field, staring at me lovingly. She walked up to her water bucket and, looking at me, kicked it with her front foot. It was empty. I got her water and I think she likes me.
Lee and BTK after dinner, acting very uncatlike.

Sheba and Goldie. They are trying to figure each other out.

Paloma our next door neighbor

I love Paloma and I think Paloma likes me!

Nothing Like A Good Nights Sleep

In bed by 10 PM, wide awake and up by 1 AM. There's nothing like a good nights sleep!
