Today our first wedding guests arrive. The OI Girls parents and Aunt and Uncle.
Tomorrow my Mom and sister and a lot more OI Girls relatives arrive.

Split shift

Today I will work from 7:30 to about noon, then 6 till about 10. In the break, I will be at the BEACH!! YEAY!!

It was a quiet uneventful weekend. I took lenghty naps Saturday and Sunday. It was a little cloudier than usual and it actually rained a little.

Next weekend is the big one. The family starts arriving on Wednesday.

Riding into work this morning on my scooter, I thought it was raining, but there was something weird about the quality of the droplets. I realized that the car in front of me was using it's windshield washer and it was flying over the roof of the car, onto me, like tinkle from above

Little late post today. Just got back from broadcasting the start of a fishing tournament. It was pretty cool, for work! I don't know why it's called Bimini tough.

The Secret of Life

I'm always going to have a full set of problems. I have a full set of unresolved problems now, I had a full set six months ago. But the thing is, I can't remember what my problems were six months ago. And in six months I probably won't remember what my problems are today. They're unimportant. I make them important in my mind.

On a good day, maybe I'll get three new problems but get rid of five. On a bad day, maybe I'll get five new ones and only get rid of three.

The secret of life is to be happy even with unresolved problems.

This morning I was sitting on my beautiful back porch, in the beautiful perfect weather, eating my cereal, thinking how my life sucks. Work sucks, my boss is unreasonable, I think nobody likes me. I'm a bad pet owner because the dogs are misbehaving. Once I start negative thinking, it tends to snowball. I sometimes only look at the problems, not the goood stuff.

There is a lot more good stuff in my life than bad. A whole lot more. I have a fantastic girl, who is my best friend, I have a great job in a great place. I go to the beach and snorkeling during lunch and after work. I ride my scooter and can smell the young tourist girls perfume as I ride by. My life is a privilege. There is an infinite number of good things, and very few bad. But only seeing the bad can ruin my day.

People are good or bad because of the things they do, not because of how they feel. All I have to do is work hard, be nice, do the best I can, and keep a clean conscience. It doesn't matter how I feel, it matters what I do.

Most of the time I am happy, but today I kind of have the blues.

And look at the good stuff, while I'm trying to eliminate the bad, which is the same thing as trying to resolve my problems.

Disappearing Cruise Ship.

I stopped by me secret spot this morning, the sea was like glass. There were two ships in port. Then all of a sudden a third ship came around one into view. Then I looked away for a second and when I looked back it was gone! I knew it had gone behind The second ship, but it was still surprising just the same. They're pretty big!

Today ought to be a good day, split shift today, tomorrow and Thursday!

Another Stinkin' Monday.
Dreading this week, lots of outside broadcasts.
It was a good weekend. It was nice and breezy and cool in the shade, yet hot in the sun. We went diving and had a big Iguana in the yard.

I can't think of a thing to post.
I tried to get my bike tuned up and the oil changed, but the technician is on vacation. So I'll take it back next week.

Scuba Expenses

Last week, I lost my camera, and bought a new one. In the past year, I've had 3 of my BC's break. My two spares went, one was pretty old and the other wasn't. Last weekend my personal BC broke, it was about 15 years old.
I guess it's time for a new one.
I've never been a Scubapro fan. Their older BC's look like the person who designed them never dived. The dump valves were in the middle of the BC, so you could never get the air out when diving, or the water out when rinsing it off afterwards. Asinine!
But since US Divers bought Seaquest, which was the best BC, Seaquest BC's suck, like US Divers BC's suck.
So now I need a BC, and it looks like the Scubapro Nighthawk is the only option.

I was told that scuba diving wasn't that expensive, after you got all your equipment, 28 years later, I still don't have all my equipment! It's always something else!

'Course, I'm not complaining. I have my rebreather and it has a BC built in, but I still need a BC for open circuit. This looks like the only BC on the market.

It's Friday for me! Tomorrow is a holiday and Monday is a holiday! So far, I'm OFF OFF OFF!

New Camera

I ordered a new camera and housing. It should be here today. (I lost mine diving Sunday, as you know)

Insanity

It seems that when I wake up, I feel great. Then as the day goes on, I pick up shit that's around me, dogs misbehaving, bad drivers. broken shoelaces and etc, and it accumulates. By the time I get home in the evening I am angry and frustrated. When I wake up I feel like a different person than the one who went to bed.

Good and Bad

It was a good weekend, but it could have been better. Saturday I built a table that came out well.
Also Saturday I did the Half Mile Sea Swim. Sunday I went diving and then laid in the sun all day. I was outside all weekend and it was a good weekend.

But the OI Girl was in Florida. And at the swim I swam the race in 16 minutes and 14 seconds, I came in 4th out of 7 in my age category. I came in 76th out of 140 overall. Not very good.

Diving I had two relative new diver dive buddies. I was taking pictures and every shot was coming out great. I took pics of the Stingray, I took shots of them swimming through the school of Tarpon. Then at the end of the dive, I went to take pics of the Moray and my camera was gone! The clip that it was clipped to was still there, with the gate open! Defective clip! I went back and looked and couldn't find the camera. Very disappointed to loose my camera. I'm not the type of person to loose stuff.

Now I'm looking at new cameras.. Or just go back to my old one, it's 3 megapixels.

It probably seemed like a good idea at the time...

My Own Bailout

Yesterday I transferred a huge percentage of my savings to a Euro fixed deposit. I'm worried about the US dollar.

Plans changed for the better

Yesterday, I got a 6 hour lunch hour on the beach. At the last minute there was an outside broadcast I had to do, so I took off from 12:30 till 6:30. Then I worked till 9.
No complaints here!
