One Day and a wake up!

Tomorrow we go to Florida!
I am looking forward to a few days off the island.

Yesterday We went to the beach and it was nice and sunny. We could see the clouds passing. Later in the afternoon, we could see to the south a big cloudbank, with no blue behind it. Even though it was still sunny where we were, we left. Five minutes after we left, it started raining-hard.
It's been raining ever since.
Not sure if we're getting rain from "The system" or some of the "Bunch of Crap" from yesterdays post, but it don't really matter to me. It's gonna be a wet cold ride into work this morning.

It's SUN Day

I hope we get a little sun. There's weather all around us. It was sunny yesterday, but was supposed to be rainy. There is a system south that has been supposed to move north and come get us for a week but hasn't yet. Now there's a bunch of crap to the east that's moving our way. Even though it looks clear on this map, it's been raining every afternoon. Except yesterday, when the wife had to work!
Hope it stays nice today!

TGIS

Thank God It's Saturday!
All I have to do is go to work Monday and then Tuesday it's FLORIDA! (USA)

Yesterday I was at the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Business Expo. It was pretty good and I think I found a metal roof for my front porch. Although I didn't take a picture of it.

Good Night!

Last night was one in a million for sleeping. Even though I was asleep, I was aware and could watch my dreams like TV. I had good dreams. I don't remember them, but I remember the pleasantness of them.

Today I rekkon I'll be working a little late, not too bad. Then Tuesday I go to the US for the
Fort Lauderdale Boat Show! My wife is going for work, and I am tagging along for the cost of airfare!

What Today?

What am I going to post about today?
I found a slideshow about swine flu, but if I posted it, it would be like posting 18 pictures.
Basically all it says is that you have a better chance of drowning in the bathtub than catching swine flu. More people have always died because of the regular flu, and basically the big push and publicity is because Donald Rumsfeld owns the company that makes the vaccine. And apparently George Bush spent over a billion on bird flu and swine flu..
It says there is a lot more money to be made by pushing swine flu and bird flu vaccines, and there's no money in fighting TB or AIDS.
More people die from murders and car crashes than swine flu.
And drowning in bathtubs.

Jason and Vicki

After dating for a long time, Jason and Vicki got married on Little Cayman this weekend. It was a nice wedding and there was good weather for the ceremony, it rained before and after pretty much all weekend. Our filght was delayed coming back. We were supposed to leave at 8:20 am and left about 3:30 PM, missing work and getting home after 5.
Now it's back to work.

Hot Bikini Babe

I was having lunch by the pool in Little Cayman and I noticed this hot babe staring at me. She was a little thin.
Hot babes like this don't want anything to do with you if you're single, but once you get married, they're all over the place, leering at you! She just stared at me the whole time I was eating, quite rude, actually!

Rescued!

We found a replacement dawgsitter! She's watched Ditto before, now I'm worried about Sheba and her instead of Ditto and the other lady!
Just put me on the plane!

Chicken

This weekend we are supposed to go to Little Cayman for a wedding.
The lady who was supposed to watch the dogs backed out. She's the lady who saw Ditto when he was loose and saw him eat the chicken. (See two posts down)
The wife wants to put both dogs in a kennel for the weekend. I don't think Ditto can handle a kennel. He will be wildman all weekend, trying to bite everybody. He won't understand. He is a widman even at the vets office if I'm not there. The way Ditto views the world is that I am in charge, if I'm (or the wife) is not there, he's the boss and he's not taking orders from anybody.

The options are, not go, or kennel them and hope for the best.

Tooosdey

I feel pretty good today, don't ask me why.
After work yesterday I thought it was Tuesday already, Monday seemed like two days in one!

It started raining in the middle of the night and looks pretty cloudy today.

I need some sunny weather for my beach lunch today.

Below is a nearly completed condo right next to the Marriott on Seven Mile Beach. You buy one and I'll look after it for you when you're not here.

Dawg With a Reputation

Last week, my Dog Ditto's leash broke and he escaped for about an hour.
He was flying around the neighborhood, running at full speed, chasing chickens.
When he got tired, he came home, muddy, bloody, scratched up, missing a toenail, and bleeding from another.

Over the weekend, a neighbor gave my wife this report:

"He's really fast, and I saw him eat a whole chicken. I was afraid to approach him, because he was eating the chicken, but he really knows what he's doing, not every dog can eat a chicken like that."

Once, back in the days I let him free on the beach, I saw him eat a chicken. He disappeared then reappeared down the beach a ways, chicken in jaws. I ran over to get it away from him, but by the time I got there, he had eaten the whole chicken. All that was left was feathers and one red, bloody organ that I thought was a kidney or liver. It looked like a bloody golf ball. Freakin surgical. I wasn't down the beach too far either, a couple hundred meters.

He really knows how to woof em down!

Laugh Till I Cry

Poor old Homer, this could only happen to him! But HOW?? He's there with milk and cereal, and his bowl caught on fire. Looking at this makes me laugh till I can't breathe!

Snatch

I watched the movie "Snatch" last night. I have seen it several times, I had it on VHS, but finally got a copy on DVD. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think last night was the first time I've seen it with subtitles. No matter how many times I watch it, it's still good!
If you haven't seen it, watch it and then report back to me here!

What a joke

Obama winning the Peace Prize, what has he done? Nothing. He hasn't been in office a year yet.
It devalues the Nobel Peace Prize.

I say watch Obama, he's part used car salesman, a con man. He's a good talker who can make you believe what he's saying.

I'm not saying he is going to be a bad US President, but I'm not saying he'll be a good one either.

It's still too early to tell.

Way too early to give him the Nobel Peace Prize.

From now on, for me, the Nobel Peace Prize is meaningless. Worthless nothing.

Associated Press:

The prize seems to be more for Obama's promise than for his performance. The Nobel committee cited as his key accomplishment "a new climate in international politics." The president has become "the world's leading spokesman" for its agenda, the committee said.

He has no standout moment of victory. Not surprising. Like most presidents in their first year, Obama's scorecard so far is largely an "incomplete," if he's being graded.

So true

I went to the dentist yesterday at 9:30, only to get booted because my appointment was for a half hour and it was supposed to be for an hour. I was rescheduling it and suddenly there was a cancellation at 11 AM. I went back to work, and then there was an emergency and when 11 rolled around I was too busy and had to cancel. Now that appointment is in January of the year twenty-ten. I still have two more between then and now as I need to have 3 fillings replaced. Today is my Friday! I'm supposed to have the day off tomorrow.

Here's some lunchtime pics from yesterday.

That same old buoy again

Today I go to work for a couple hours, then the dentist for some deep drilling and filling. Then a long lunch and back to work for a late afternoon Outside Broadcast.

Here's some pictures of some birds in the backyard. Except one.

Infuriating

I just can't believe the US.
Needs new management.
I'm not a big fan of murder-rapists, but first they kill an innocent person, then they torture and don't kill the guilty.
They ought to just chop their head off or something. What is this lethal injection humane painless killing crap?
IT DON'T WORK

Sunday, at Rum Point

Yesterday we went to Rum Point. The water is so shallow you can walk all the way from shore and you can walk from boat to boat. It was a lot of fun, a lot of boats, sun and a 360 Degree video I made. The camera was in an underwater case so there isn't good audio though. Sorry

Bunch of Stuff

My Mom has moved out of the apartment where my Dad and she used to live. She cleared out the storage unit that came with the apartment, so she sent me all the stuff (junk) that was down there, as well as an antique table that we always had when I was growing up. Also she sent me this ancient chest that I collected pictures, letters, Concert ticket stubs, and general stuff. I have a LIFE Magazine from 1969 when Man walked on the moon, two first edition comic books. Navy pictures and books, Summer camp pictures! (1960's). My Dads Boy Scout books from the 1930's. yearbooks And more.

Good News

This is good news. I can't think of a worse place for the Olympics (or
anything else) than Chicago, The Place of the Great Stink

Ananova:

Chicago eliminated in Olympics race
Chicago has been eliminated from the running to host the 2016 Olympics
despite lobbying from US president Barack Obama.
Tokyo was also voted out of the shortlist, leaving Rio de Janeiro and
Madrid in contention.
The International Olympic Committee members are due to make their final
decision.
