Long week, short weekend

It was a very long week, and I fear the weekend will be too short.
Here the weather has been very weird, with cold front after cold front. It has been clear and cold at night and then clouding up in the day and totally cloudy in the afternoons. Very windy too.
Yesterday was my Moms Birthday, I called her but didn't send anything.
Now it's Saturday morning and I'm getting coffee-d up and ready to go and face the day.

Sushi

Last night we went and had sushi for my wife's birthday.

This week I have a tech rep in at work for our automation system. So far it's going very well.
I told a lot of people about my dream yesterday. Most people think it's funny, as do I, especially the Paul McCartney part. One girl said the dream means I am at the end of a rough patch in my life. I hope so!

Sheba moving to Singapore

last night I dreamed that Sheba, our dog was moving away. Apparently we gave her away and her new people were taking her far far away, Someplace like Singapore. There were movers to get all her stuff and I was really sad. I was crying. Paul McCartney came over to say gooodbye to Sheba and sing a good bye song.
I was very glad when I woke up and realized it was a dream. Sheba is part of our family and I could never give her or Ditto away!

Today is The Wifes birthday. We have a date tonight!

Must be a Faze

I'm going through one of those phases where I can't think of anything to post when I'm sitting in front of my computer. Then all day, I have great ideas, which all disappear next time I sit in front of the computer.

Dazed and Confused

Today is Friday, but I don't know what day it seems like. Wednesday was a holiday here, I worked all day, but it was different than my normal work. So my body doesn't know what day it is.
I'm looking in my pictures folder for a picture to post. These are several old pics of me.
About 1970, 5th grade
76 or 77, this a girl named Margaret and me. We never dated. She was a cheerleader and I was a doper. But I remember this day, I was happy she sat next to me for this picture. I felt popular for a minute.
This is me in 1978, I worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co, this pic was taken during my lunch hour. This is pretty close to right before I joined the Navy.

43rd Agriculture Show

Yesterday I got up at 4:30 to be at work by 5:30 to have the van in place at the agriculture grounds by 6. It was ok, as far as work goes. Next weekend is the Agriculture Show on Cayman Brac, I'll be at that one too, God willing and the creek don't rise!

There's nothing nicer than a Cow

Caymanite Jewelery
I want a chicken coop like this in my back yard, holds 2 or 3 chickens
Fruits and vegetables.

That Feeling

Do you know the feeling you get when your workload is so heavy you aren't keeping up, and somebody drops a lot more work on you?
That feeling when you know what you are doing and how to do it but somebody insists you do it their crappy, inferior way?
Or the feeling when there's a job you really want to do, and do it well, with pride, but possibly someone else will get the job because you're burdened with other less interesting tasks?
Well, I anticipate feeling a lot of these feelings and wish there were some way of turning them off.
A damned if you do, damned if you don't, no win, frustrating situation for me. Mostly self inflicted by my mental defects of excessive pride and anger.

Bye Bye Polaris!

In the empty apartments next door, the management had a street light installed, shining on their parking lot. Talk about light pollution. I can't see Polaris, the North Star, anymore. It kills almost all the stars in the northern sky. The Wife and I predict that it will shine on our bed when the door is open. (When it's warm, we sleep with the door open, to catch the breeze.) We have another street light that shines on our back porch too.
It's upsetting that the electric company just slaps up lights and poles wherever they want without any consideration.

Easy post

This is the same sub that I posted a picture of yesterday. It was cool the way it banked on it's turn after I stopped recording the video. You can see it in yesterdays pic a little.

I just woke up, I was sleeping good until the dawgs woke me up. Now I'm waiting for the coffee. Actually, I made coffee yesterday, got called into work, and never had a chance to drink it. I'm just re-heating it. The Wife comes back from Florida today I wouldn't give her re-heated coffee. Also it's Valentines day today. . .

Frisbee inventor dies at 90

Walter Frederick Morrison, the man credited with inventing the Frisbee, has died at the age of 90.

"How would you get through your youth without learning to throw a Frisbee?"

Morrison and his future wife, Lu, used to toss a tin cake pan on the beach in California. The idea for what would become the Frisbee grew as Morrison considered ways to make the cake pans fly better and, after serving as a pilot in the second world war, he began manufacturing his flying discs in 1948.

He would hawk the discs at local fairs and eventually attracted Wham-O Manufacturing, the company that bought the rights to Morrison's plastic discs.

Morrison sold the production and manufacturing rights to his Pluto Platter in 1957. The plastic flying disc was later renamed the Frisbee, with sales surpassing 200m discs. It is now a staple at beaches and spawned sports such as Frisbee golf and the team sport Ultimate.

My Wife went to Florida this morning for a working weekend. I will be alone with the dogs while she's gone.
The weather is supposed to be crappy.

Naturalization

Yesterday was my appointment for Naturalization. In 6 to 9 months, I should be getting a letter, if the letter is "yes" I will be eligible for a Cayman and UK passport.
Also yesterday, I worked the night shift, I went in at midnight and took the station off the air to do some studio work. So, after my appointment, I went to the beach!

There were six cruise ships in port yesterday!

There was still plenty of good beach

This a new restaurant, when it opens, they will tear down the
Beach Club

Twas a Nice weekend

It was a nice weekend, went to the beach Saturday and Sunday. We got a cold front and it rained Saturday night. We were supposed to dive Sunday, was very windy Sunday morning.

I haven't been posting as much as usual, I have been studying Spanish in the mornings at the same time I usually post in my blog.

Today is February 8th, I've been on the island for 13 years and 4 days. I missed my anniversary. My wife remembered on the 5th.

I'm very glad the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl too.

Have you a good week!

Happy Feb Roo EEe

Happy February. I haven't posted in a while, I have a new years resolution to learn Spanish and I get up in the mornings and study. I have the Rosetta Stone DVD but I don't think it's too good.
I have found a free podcast called Coffee Break Espanol that I think it much better. Check it out!
