Sheba

Today Sheba has to go to the vet, she's loosing the hair around her nose, looking kind of pinkish. She feels ok apparently, her normal goofy demeanor hasn't changed.
We'll probably stop by the beach on the way home, which she should enjoy>

Jade Plants

I can't keep Jade Plants alive. They look good for a couple of months, then die suddenly. I've tried them in different locations around the house, inside outside every which side. Then all the leaves fall off and they die.

I lost two (all I had) this week and last. Any suggestions?.

Two years ago, at 1AM, my Father passed away


Today I have an outside broadcast in the afternoon, so I get the good ol extended lunch hour! It used to happen every Wednesday, as I did sound for YOUTH FLEX, but since the new studio went in, I am no longer needed. Except when there's a remote broadcast, like today.

Busy Day

Today I have a Doctors Appointment at OH seven thirty, then I have to go to customs and get some cables that are there for work.
Uh, I forgot what all else.

Rebreathers are Better!

Yesterday, in the morning My Wife and I did our first rebreather dive alone together. Later that afternoon, we did another dive, open circuit (that means with tanks) with some friends who wanted to go. After the dive My Wife said, "Rebreathers are definitely better.
I knew that, but glad to know she thinks so too!!

Sunday

After working yesterday, I hope to go diving with the wife today. Several people want to go with us, but I don't plan on calling any of them till AFTER we dive.

UP Date

Haven't posted in a while. I re-formatted my hard drive, installed Windows XP again. My computer came new with Vista, but I found it totally unacceptable for Radio use and had to install XP. So this is the second time I've installed XP on it. Funny how I can format my HD, install my OS, and then be surprised how different some things are.
Last night several of our friends and we went to a "Restaurant" called Rolands Garden. It is outside, and there is no menu. The chef cooks whatever he has planned and serves it up himself. I think he's a retired chef and has a little something on the side. It was really good.

What a hassle

I formatted my computer, and now it will take a while to get all my issues sorted out. All my pictures I put on DVD. It was two and a half years of pics, and it took almost half a dozen DVD's. Now all my pics are far far away, hard to post on my blog.
It's OK, I'll just take more.
I just got my email sorted out, and that's good.
My power settings are messed up, I can't make the laptop turn off when I close the lid.
My built-in camera isn't working.
But it's not locking up on me anymore, and it seems better, overall!

New Laptop coming?

Having major computer problems, the damn thing keeps freezing up, so that the only thing I can do is turn the power off then back on to get it working.

For the past couple of days I've been getting all my pics and docs off of it so I can re-format the drive, and see if that helps, but who knows.

Anyway, that' why I haven't been able to post lately.

Suddenly a GIANT BAT swooped down out of the sky!!

Yesterday my wife was driving us downtown and I had the camera and was just taking random pictures as we drove.








Suddenly a giant bat swooped down and started flying in front of the car! It was HUGE! Mildly, I said, "It looks like there's a giant bat flying if front of the car." My wife said "Oh yeah". We were strangely calm in what could have been the last few seconds of our lives.

I'm surprised nobody else saw it, that it wasn't in the news, like Godzilla or something!

Then I realized it was a little spotted eagle ray hanging from my wifes rear view mirror!

Boy was I embarassed!

Saturday Morning

I guess God gave me all that sleep Wednesday night because he had hell day planned for me on Thursday.

I worked from 8AM till 10:30 PM with some major studio problems.

Yesterday I was off, but did get called in for one problem.

I went for a beach walk yesterday and took this pic, sand dunes underwater.

And this one, I took it from my scooter, on the way home. Good Fishfry!

Last night, I went through my whole blog, month by month. I didn't read it word for word, but it was interesting. Some stuff I don't remember what I was talking about, and some of the links are dead. But it was pretty cool! The most comments I ever got was 22.

Good Sleep

Lat night was the first time I can remember where I slept all night. I usually wake up between 1AM and 3 0r 4AM. I feel really good this morning. The sunrise was nice too!

UGH

I don't want to go to work today, I want to go diving and to the beach. I need to find a job that combines my electronics resume with my scuba resume.

New Years Resolution

It seems to make more sense to make new years resolutions on your birthday than new years eve. Mine is to quit using foul language. It seems to be one of the side effects of anger, another thing I have been trying to control, maybe if I could control the elements of anger, I'd be abale to control anger itself.

Totally Me

I was at the library yesterday and found this cartoon in the New Yorker magazine. It is totally me, I am a notoriously bad sleeper, I wake up every night and worry about everything from my job to diving to my dogs and everything.

Days getting shorter

It was a nice sunrise this morning, but I can already tell that the days are getting shorter! Pretty soon I'll have the candle out again for my coffee! The longest day was just a couple of weeks ago!

My wife has started her rebreather course, soon I will have a new dive buddy!

Is this true?

In the olden days, I don't know when it ended, the US Dollar was asset based. That means that for every dollar printed, there was a dollars worth of gold in the treasury.

At some point, the US government started printing money, without having the asset.

(To me, this is like writing checks without having money in your account)

If this is true, and the US government is screwing up anyway, why do they need tax dollars? If they need more money, they can just print it!

Straighten me out!

Impossible Shit

I have been busy at work with some impossible shit, old files that have been overwritten keep reappearing. For example, a grocery store does a weekly ad. This weeks ad overwrites last weeks ad, but the audio filename is the same. So the filename is something like grocerystore.WAV. Every day at the same time, the computer plays the ad, we jus re-record it. Well, suddenly, out of the blue, the old ad starts playing again. Several instances of this.

Not possible.....
